This haughty and vain character is born from my child’s memories. It’s a free interpretation from the passage in Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland where three gardener cards are painting in red the flowers of a a white rose tree, before The Queen of Hearts may find out they’re white, and would scream, in her voice of thunder, Off with their heads!...
This doll is 15 cm. in height (5-15/16”), it’s modelled in Sculpey’s “Living Doll”. Wig is in viscose. The garment is mainly in cotton, except for the sleeves and trouser legs, which are made from an acrylic fabric. Clothes’ printing is Noemí’s design; on the third picture in the upper row, you can see in detail Noemí’s anagram printed at the back of the card.
All the accessories have been made by Noemí, mainly with Sculpey’s Premo. The rose tree stem, the climbing ivy, the grass and the three red balls come from nature.
